Troubleshooting

The AEG LAVATHERM T 520 electronic Dryer has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your AEG might be giving you.

END (EINDE) shortly after program start

The drying process terminates automatically because the load is too dry or too little laundry is filled for the selected program. Select a time program or a higher drying stage, such as EXTRA DRY instead of VERY DRY.

Drying process takes unusually long

The drying process takes an extended time of 4.5 hours, and the END display illuminates, indicating an interruption due to too much laundry for the SPECIAL CARE program. Check the program selection: Use SPECIAL CARE only for laundry amounts up to 2.5kg. Reduce the amount of laundry or pre-dry the laundry more thoroughly.

Door cannot be closed

The door remains open because the fluff filter is not inserted correctly and/or the filter lid is not closed. Replace the fluff filter and ensure the filter lid is closed properly.

Condenser Maintenance

The condenser should be cleaned regularly to ensure economical operation. A dirty condenser can lead to inefficiencies and potential damage to the dryer.

Safety Precautions

Repairs should only be carried out by trained personnel. Improper repairs can pose significant hazards. Additionally, the dryer must not be operated without a properly installed condenser.

Fluff Filter Maintenance

The fluff filter must be cleaned after every drying cycle. Operating the dryer with a blocked fluff filter can lead to damage.

Energy Efficiency

To optimize energy use, ensure laundry is well spun before drying. This reduces the drying time and power consumption.

Door Reversal Option

The dryer door is reversible, allowing users to change the direction in which it opens for convenience in different laundry room setups.

Water Reservoir Usage

The condensed water collected in the reservoir is not suitable for drinking or culinary purposes. It should be emptied after each drying cycle to maintain optimal performance.

Program Selection

The dryer offers various programs for different fabric types, including COTTONS, DELICATES, and TIME programs. For heat-sensitive fabrics, the SPECIAL CARE button should be used.

Program Capacity

The maximum load for COTTONS is 5 kg, while DELICATES should not exceed 2.5 kg. Overloading can affect drying efficiency and safety.

End of Cycle Indicator

The END/CREASE GUARD display will illuminate to indicate the end of the drying cycle. The anti-crease phase then begins, allowing for easy removal of laundry.

Environmental Considerations

The materials used in the dryer can be recycled according to their markings. The dryer is designed to comply with EC directives for low voltage and electromagnetic compatibility.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your AEG Dryer.

Regular Cleaning of Fluff Filter

Clean the fluff filter after each drying process to ensure optimal performance and prevent blockages that could damage the dryer.

Condenser Maintenance

Regularly clean the condenser, especially if you frequently use fabric conditioning sheets or dry starched items. This is crucial to prevent damage to the dryer.

Water Reservoir Management

Empty the water reservoir after every drying process. The collected water can be used as distilled water at home, but it should first be filtered through a paper filter bag.

Pre-Dry Laundry Thoroughly

Ensure laundry is well spun before using the dryer. The better the laundry is spun, the more efficient and quicker the drying process will be.

Prevent Overloading

Do not overload the dryer. Follow the recommended load sizes to avoid extended drying times and potential damage to the appliance.
